CM stresses on importance of gas-based industries in Tripura 

Agartala, Sep 23 : Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has reiterated the importance on setting up gas-based industries in the state, utilising the abundant gas available.

Inaugurating a day-long workshop of North-east CNG and PNG here yesterday, the chief minister said more gas-based power plants were coming up in the state. 

''We want gas-based small and medium industries to come up in the state,'' he added. 

After taking over the responsibility, GAIL's activities of gas drilling were not satisfactory as was expected, he said. 

He hoped that the GAIL would work more speedily and the state government would extend all possible help to them, the chief minister added. 

Mr Sarkar stressed on preparing a project report for the expansion of gas-based industry in the state.
