Indian Oil Brain Jam Open Quiz 2009 Guwahati, August 29: The much awaited, Indian Oil Brain Jam Open Quiz 2009, will be held on 30th of August 2009 from 3 p.m. onwards at the Pragjyoti ITA Centre, Machkhowa. The event conceived by Priya Communiction, has evolved into an annual event awaited by quiz buffs across the region. Renowned Quizmaster Barry O’Brien will host this eagerly awaited, theme-based event. This year the event is being supported by The Assam Tribune, SBI, LICI, News Live, Sona Bath Fittings, northeasttribune.com , Fast Track to name a few. Brain Jam has in the past four years left an indelible mark on the quizzical minds of Guwahatians and going by the tradition, Barry O’ Brien, who is also an educationist, will this time continue to enthral and enlighten the participants and the audience with his energy and brilliant one-liners. “This year too a number of surprises have been lined up for both the participants and the audience. I am very glad to be a part of this initiative, specially as the event aims to highlight the after-effects of global warming. I am sure this programme will be an initiative of its kind to save the earth from the ill-effects of Global warming,” said Barry O’ Brien. The ‘Go Green’ initiative for the Quiz has been chosen in a bid to reverse the effect of the Global warming, brought about be excessive emission of green house gases like carbon dioxide. Brain Jam 2009, aims to highlight these problems and pledge to begin an initiative to mitigate this impending problem through this platform by enlightening the participants and the audience how to help reverse the affects of Global warming. Talking about the initiative Anoop Khanna of Priya Communication said, “We aim to sensitise the people of the state on the various problems of global warming, therefore we are promoting this cause in this very auspicious event conceived in the loving memory of R.G. Khanna. We hope this initiative is the stepping stone to reverse the impact of this global problem. I am sure the audience will support us like every year, but we want them to take this initiative forward from here. This is a social obligation.” The preliminary round will qualify six teams for the final round with two participants in each team. The winning team will win the prize of a package trip to Malaysia sponsored by Sona Bath Fittings besides a host of other prizes for the runners-up teams. The organisers have also arranged a host of goodies for the audience, to be distributed during the quiz.
