Statement of Commitment' on Naga reconciliation Kohima, Aug 27 : The Naga civil society has underlined the need to reconcile and work in tandem for early solution to the Naga's political problem. A meeting, organised by the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) and attended by the rebel Naga factions, Naga civil societies, NGOs and Tribal Hohos, was held in Dimapur yesterday. They adopted unanimously the ‘Statement of Commitment’ with support of the Covenant of Reconciliation and was agreed by the Naga political groups. The Naga people extended their solidarity to the proposed reconciliation meeting and are yearning for its accomplishment at the earliest so, that the past mistakes are not repeated again. The people and the political groups have recognised the urgent need of the reconciliation and are determined to work honestly for a common future. Addressing the meeting Naga National Council (NNC) leader General (Retd) Thinuoselie Keyho voiced for unity among the divided Naga political groups (undergrounds), without which no honourable and acceptable solution would be gained. He pointed out, how a series of earlier attempts to reconcile the Naga political groups have derailed and strongly emphasised on the need to uphold the ongoing process. Altogether 42 organisations, including Naga Hoho, Naga Mothers’ Association, Tribal Hohos, NGOs, civil societies and underground factions participated in the gathering.
