Tea could be a money spinner for Arunachal: Byaling Itanagar, Aug 26 : The tea industry in Arunachal Pradesh has a bright prospect and could change the state's economy considerably, said Industry Minister Tanga Byaling here today. While pitching for cultivation of tea in large scale to up the economy, the minister called upon the people to take up tea and coffee cultivation considering the suitability of land and climatic condition of the state. The minister made this statement while inaugurating the official website of the industries department, official sources said. Citing the high demand for the local tea outside the state for its ethnic taste and flavour, he called for promoting tea production saying it would generate revenue and would help to sustain economy of the state. He said the state’s industrial sector would be developed in the next 5-6 years as major industries are likely to come up because of the wide range of provisions and incentives provided in the new State Industrial Policy 2008 to attract private investments in the state. ''The government has formulated the new industrial policy to make it more investor-friendly and facilitate optimum utilisation of the locally available raw materials by encouraging setting up of appropriate industrial units,'' he added.
