'Ghost' afraid of Mizo cops

Aizawl, Feb 27: Chairs, tables and other furniture were upset at a vacant house at Chawlhhum area on the the outskirts of the city making local people believe that it was haunted, till the police began keeping watch.

Neighbours reported eleven visits by a 'ghost' to the house between February 9 to 19 while the owner Biakkunga was away.

"Our boys kept a 24-hour watch over the alleged haunted house for five consecutive days after which no more incidents occurred. The 'ghost' must be afraid of the police," Aizawl superintendent of police L T Hrangchal told.

Hrangchal said that the 'possessed' house was cleaned and forensic experts sent to find clues whether the ghost or human had left behind anything for the police to investigate.

"Whatever fingerprints were found by forensic experts inside the house were believed to be of human beings," he said.
