Minister's answer based on wrong information given by officers

Imphal, Feb 26: There was confusion for a while in the Manipur assembly today when Health and Family Welfare minister Ph. Parijat Singh could not give proper answer to a supplementary question by an opposition MLA on how many private vehicles were engaged for ambulance service under the National Rural Health Mission programme in the state.

The opposition MLA charged the minister with having furnished wrong information in the house.

The minister said in his reply that he had no hand in the implementation of the National Rural Health Mission programme in Manipur as it was being handled by a society as per guide line of the mission given by the central government in the north eastern region.

The health minister said that the information given by him in the state assembly was based on the information provided to him by officers handling the implementation of the national rural health mission programme in Manipur.
