Seven militants killed in Manipur 

Imphal, Feb 8: Seven militants were killed in separate incidents in Manipur, official sources said today. 

Sources said two unidentified militants were shot dead by unknown gunmen at Sangaiporou and Khoyathong in Imphal West District this morning. 

In a separate incident, police commandos gunned down two militants near Samurou area in the same district last night and recovered a revolver and a grenade. 

A militant of People's United Liberation Front (PULF) was shot dead by securitymen at Thambalkhong in Imphal East district last night. 

A nine mm pistol and three rounds of ammunition along with copies of letters demanding extortion money were recovered from them, sources said. 

Sources said Imphal West District police commandos in an encounter gunned down one militant of banned People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) at Lamdeng last night.A pistol and some rounds of ammunition were recovered from the spot. 

In yet another incident, an unidentified militant was killed by unknown gunmen at Lamlai in Imphal East district, sources said.
